Consider The Motorcycle's Size

One size does not fit all when it comes to motorcycles. Your height and arm span are important factors to consider when buying a motorcycle, especially if you’re a bit shorter or taller than average. That’s part of the reason why we highly recommend taking a bike for a test drive before purchasing it. A bike that otherwise might have everything you need in a motorcycle might be a poor fit in a more literal sense. Be on the lookout for motorcycle models designed to be easily adjusted. 

Factor In Your Experience Level

Motorcycles require a certain level of skill to operate. They are steered more by the rider shifting their weight than by the handlebars, a system that results in greater maneuverability but can be difficult for first-time riders to grasp. That’s why, instead of a lightweight and high performance motorcycle like a sport bike, we recommend starting off with something heavier and a bit underpowered, like a cruiser. The bike will be easier to control and you’ll be less likely to accidentally swerve into traffic. Bear in mind that you can always choose to upgrade your ride when you’ve gained some experience.
